FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Dayton, OH, July 10, 2026:

The MMEC today announced that Dr. Matt Casto has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This leadership transition positions MMEC to build on its momentum and continue advancing the US Microelectronics Ecosystem.

Dr. Casto played a key role in MMEC’s initial development and has served as the organization’s Chief Technology Officer. His deep knowledge of MMEC’s mission, programs, members, and government partnerships, combined with his executive leadership experience across the defense and commercial sectors, positions him to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.

“Matt has been instrumental in shaping MMEC’s strategy, technical direction, and national partnerships from the organization’s earliest stages,” said J.P. Nauseef, President and CEO of JobsOhio and Chair of the MMEC Board of Directors. “He understands the needs of our members, government partners, and the warfighter, and he brings the experience and leadership needed to build on MMEC’s strong foundation and move the mission forward.”

“As MMEC enters its next chapter, our focus remains clear: delivering exceptional value to our members, advancing capabilities for the warfighter, producing results for our government partners, and strengthening the trusted domestic microelectronics ecosystem,” Casto said. “I am honored to lead this organization and work alongside our members and partners to accelerate technology transition, strengthen domestic manufacturing and supply chains, and deliver mission-ready capabilities.”

The leadership transition comes at a critical time for the U.S. microelectronics industry. MMEC will continue working across industry, academia, government, and the investment community to accelerate innovation, expand domestic capabilities, and strengthen the secure and resilient supply chains essential to national and economic security.

“Our members are central to everything MMEC does,” Casto added. “Their expertise, capabilities, and commitment to collaboration make it possible to move critical technologies from research and development into production and use by the warfighter. We will continue working to ensure that membership in MMEC creates meaningful opportunities, partnerships, and results.”
